Very good yesterday – even better today
The myneva Group offers software solutions for all areas of social services. It can draw on almost 50 years of IT experience in the social sector and the expertise of 200 employees at eleven different locations in the DACH region and Benelux.
Myneva software solutions have been developed specifically for the social sector and are 100% practice-oriented. As a holistic, easy-to-use software, myneva relieves clients in an uncomplicated and comprehensive way. Not only the clients themselves benefit from this, but above all the people whose well-being myneva’s clients look after every day with a high level of commitment.
Establishment of a data and visualisation hub
Concentrating on its core competencies, myneva decided to build a new modern data warehouse in the cloud and to buy in external experts for this purpose.
In a pilot project that ran over 6 months, three different data sources were merged into one data warehouse (DWH) in the Amazon Web Services Cloud (AWS) in order to compare overarching KPIs of the individual business areas. The DWH was created in AWS on a Redshift database using the latest principles of Data Vault 2.0 modelling. The free Talend Open Studio was used as an ETL tool to manage the DWH and the data was visualised using Tableau Online Dashboards in the cloud.

“Future-proof technologies such as AWS Redshift, Data Vault, Talend and Tableau were just as important to us as cimt ag as an experienced IT consulting company,” Partzsch continues. The project was carried out completely remotely and according to modern agile approaches in order to be able to guarantee a transparent exchange between myneva Group and cimt ag. Short release cycles and regular demos of the completed implementations were important in order to always be able to respond promptly to change requests.
Why use Talend for management?
When choosing the tool for the extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) of the data, the myneva Group trusted both the positive experience of their Dutch colleagues and the experts at cimt ag, who recommended the use of Talend Data Integration. Apart from cost aspects, the decisive reason for using Talend Data Integration was certainly the simple introduction of the myneva project staff to the graphic-oriented job design, which was accompanied by cimt.
Why Tableau?
New and above all more data does not necessarily mean added value. To find this added value and present it in a visually appealing way, myneva chose Tableau on the recommendation of cimt ag.
Tableau as a powerful data analysis tool is tailored to the individual needs of all types of users. Tableau also provides the company with an end-to-end platform that empowers and encourages all employees to work with data. In doing so, it meets myneva Group’s high standards for security, governance and scalability. In the blink of an eye, Tableau can be used to build drag-and-drop business dashboards and then share them via the Tableau Online (Cloud) Server. In this way, insights are multiplied within the company.
Tableau’s intuitive handling means that myneva Group’s internal analysts can familiarise themselves with the tool quickly and easily. The wide range of training materials and the global Tableau community provide support.
Why cimt ag?
With more than 20 years of consulting experience, cimt ag is a very experienced IT service provider in the areas of DWH and cloud. Following a recommendation from myneva CEO Dr Hartmut Clausen, who had already come to appreciate cimt’s SAP expertise at an earlier stage in his career, contact was quickly established.
“cimt was able to provide the right answers and realise a short-term project start initially with up to five employees,” Clausen confirmed.
cimt ag was able to successfully design and implement the agreed data warehouse pilot in close cooperation with the project staff of the myneva Group. As an IT consultancy, it is particularly important to cimt Managing Partner Rouven Homann that myneva is now able to expand and continue this pilot independently.
“We like to start with the architecture, but the implementation and ultimately the handover to our clients is just as important to us” affirms Homann.
This concept and the approach of the IT consultants used also fully convinced the board of the myneva Group. cimt will continue to advise myneva in the future and is looking forward to the next joint challenges.
