SAP Information Lifecycle Management (SAP ILM)
GDPR-compliant handling of personal data
Benefits and opportunities
SAP Information Lifecycle Management (SAP ILM) is a holistic solution for efficient management of personal company data, including an archive system for SAP and non-SAP systems in a central hub. With SAP ILM you can identify, manage, and destroy the personal data and documents in your organization in a GDPR-compliant manner. You can archive productive data and documents in an audit-proof and rule-based manner with SAP ILM as well. By setting legal holds, you can also postpone the destruction of individual data and archive files until the facts of the case have been clarified.
A prerequisite for establishing GDPR compliance is a cross-system process analysis of the processing of personal data in your company. Identification and definition of the personal processes in your IT landscape, considering the requirements of the GDPR and the legal retention periods, form the basis for the creation of an authorization and rule-based deletion concept. Only authorized persons may view locked data and supervise the rule-based deletion processes. Within SAP ILM, the company-specific rule sets are configured. These settings are rolled out to the various systems after successful testing, so that you can permanently comply with the requirements of the GDPR permanently and system-supported in your entire IT landscape.
