Central integration platform for group-wide requirements
PHOENIX CONTACT uses many applications for different requirements. These include systems from the domains of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Product Information Management (PIM), Human Resource Management (HRM), Business Intelligence (BI) or the web environment.
Integration & Enterprise Architecture, as an independent team for PHOENIX CONTACT and global office for interface and integration developments, needed a platform to meet all requirements and requestors.
This standard was established with Talend Data Integration. The large number of systems and requirement providers resulted in a large number of heterogeneous projects, which could nevertheless be implemented in one standard with the help of Talend. Projects such as the provision of data for local systems in different sales companies, but also a central application for the creation of customer-specific price lists on demand or the supply of data for the web shop in the cloud are examples that were developed based on this standard.

PHOENIX CONTACT, with its many and partly autonomously operating subsidiaries, has a high demand for versatile data integration. With a central ERP system (SAP) as well as third-party systems in numerous subsidiaries, Talend with its extensive connectors is perfectly suited to represent the need for integration as middleware. The visual representation of ETL jobs makes it easy for many developers and power users to use the platform. It is intuitive to get started and thus allows for quick added value. PHOENIX CONTACT was thus also able to enable its own employees to implement complex requirements more quickly and efficiently.

In the meantime, a large number of interfaces have been created during the period of cooperation.
